TUCSON, Arizona — The search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old woman suspected to have been abducted from her home, has intensified following the discovery of a black glove by FBI agents. This piece of evidence was found alongside a roadside approximately one and a half miles from her residence, an area that has garnered significant attention in the investigation.
The glove resembles the pair worn by a masked assailant who was captured on security footage destroying the camera at Nancy’s home. The video evidence marks a critical development in a case that has seen a vigorous ten-day investigation by the FBI. Agents were actively combing the neighborhood when they recovered the glove from low desert shrubbery.
Despite the ongoing investigation, law enforcement officials have yet to identify any suspects related to the suspected kidnapping, which left a trail of blood from Nancy’s home. The FBI has expressed gratitude for the support from the Tucson community, highlighting the $50,000 reward available for any information that could lead to Nancy’s safe return.
In conjunction with the search, authorities briefly detained a person of interest, Carlos Palazuelos, a delivery driver from Rio Rico, who was questioned near the Mexican border. However, he was released without charges, insisting he had no connection to the case.
Adding to the intrigue surrounding the abduction, a mysterious note demanding a payment in bitcoin was sent to TMZ, indicating that the sender would provide information regarding the abductor in exchange for $67,000 in cryptocurrency. This is the third such demand received since Nancy was reported missing.
The authors of the ransom letter have failed to provide any proof of life for Nancy, despite Savannah Guthrie, her daughter and co-host on the “Today” show, stating that her family is willing to pay to ensure her mother’s safe return.
As the investigation continues, authorities remain focused on unraveling the details of this distressing case, while members of the community eagerly await news that may lead to Nancy Guthrie’s recovery.
