The San Francisco Giants have finalized a one-year contract with right-handed pitcher Tyler Mahle, as confirmed by a source to ESPN on Wednesday.

Mahle had an impressive showing in the 2025 season with the Texas Rangers, achieving a career-best earned run average (ERA) of 2.18 over 16 starts, finishing with a 6-4 record and 66 strikeouts in 86⅔ innings.

Entering his 10th major league season, Mahle will join the Giants as he continues his journey with his fourth team. His previous stints include the Rangers, Minnesota Twins, and Cincinnati Reds, where he played for more than five seasons. Throughout his career, he has compiled a record of 39 wins and 46 losses across 144 games, including 141 starts, alongside an overall ERA of 4.07 and 753 strikeouts.

Despite his potential, Mahle has faced challenges with injuries in recent years, limiting him to 125 innings over 24 starts across the last three seasons. He dealt with shoulder fatigue and missed significant time in the 2024 season while recovering from elbow surgery.

This acquisition is part of the Giants’ ongoing efforts to strengthen their pitching lineup this offseason, complemented by previous signings such as Adrian Houser and reliever Jason Foley. With a focus on rejuvenating their staff, the Giants appear poised to enhance their competitive edge in the upcoming season.
