Kliff Kingsbury has emerged as a serious candidate for the role of offensive coordinator for the New York Giants, according to a report by Jeremy Fowler from ESPN. Both Kingsbury, the former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, and Brian Callahan, who previously coached the Tennessee Titans, have participated in the Giants’ initial search for their next OC.

To date, interviews for the position have been conducted virtually, with in-person interviews anticipated to take place in the coming week as the team narrows down its finalists.

Callahan, who served as head coach of the Titans in 2024 and was fired after a rocky start to the following season, holds a 4-19 record as an NFL head coach. Prior to his stint in Tennessee, he was the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2019 to 2023, contributing to their offensive strategies during a pivotal time for the team. His coaching background also includes experience with the Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, and Detroit Lions.

Adding to the intrigue, Bob Brookover from NJ.com points out a unique trend: during his 18 seasons as a head coach, Jim Harbaugh has never hired a first-time offensive play-caller, raising questions about the direction the Giants may take in their search.

As the Giants continue to refine their search for an offensive coordinator, the potential hiring of either Kingsbury or Callahan could bring fresh ideas and strategies to their offense, setting the stage for a more dynamic performance in the upcoming season.
