Pinelands High School Football Coach Recognized by Giants
This week, a notable achievement was bestowed upon a New Jersey high school in Ocean County. The New York Football Giants have named Head Coach John Tierney of Pinelands Regional High School in Little Egg Harbor as the Lou Rettino High School Coach of the Week for Week 4 of the 2024 season.
The “Coach of the Week” program, organized by the Giants, acknowledges high school coaches who make significant contributions to their programs. As stated on the Giants’ website, this award honors former Union High School coach Lou Rettino for his dedication to football, his community, and the development of his athletes.
Coach Tierney, originally from Bayville, New Jersey, along with his wife Kathy and their four children—Olivia, Sean, Brooke, and Liam—are dedicated fans of the New York Football Giants.
As part of this recognition, Coach Tierney’s football program will receive a $2,000 grant from The Giants Foundation and Gatorade. He will also be awarded a certificate of appreciation signed by Giants head coach Brian Daboll and will be honored at a dinner following the season, as well as during a pre-season home game in 2025.
This accolade is a proud moment for Coach Tierney and the entire Pinelands community.
