HBO has unveiled a teaser trailer for the highly anticipated series, IT: Welcome to Derry, building excitement as the full trailer is set to drop tomorrow. Though the teaser is brief, it offers intriguing glimpses, including a woman with an unsettling smile observing a classic red balloon, a figure struggling in water, and a peek into the drains that house Pennywise the Clown.
While Pennywise himself does not appear in this teaser, viewers can expect to see more of the infamous killer clown in the upcoming full teaser.
This new series is developed for television by filmmakers Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, known for their work on the IT films and The Flash. The show will consist of nine episodes, with Muschietti directing four of them, and is slated to premiere on HBO and will also be available for streaming on Max later this year.
Set within the universe of Stephen King’s IT, IT: Welcome to Derry expands upon the story established in the feature films IT and IT Chapter Two. The cast features a strong lineup, including Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and the returning Bill Skarsgård, who lends his iconic portrayal to Pennywise once more.
