The popular FOX series 9-1-1: Lone Star concluded its five-season journey just months ago, but excitement is brewing for a new spin-off within Ryan Murphy’s franchise: 9-1-1: Nashville.

According to ABC, 9-1-1: Nashville promises to deliver a high-energy procedural drama that revolves around brave first responders and their intertwined family narratives of power and glamour, all set in one of America’s most vibrant cities. Executives behind the scenes include Murphy, 9-1-1 showrunner Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani, who led 9-1-1: Lone Star. Joining them are notable producers Chris O’Donnell, Brad Buecker, Brad Falchuk, and actress Angela Bassett.

O’Donnell will star as Don Sharpe, a fire captain who balances his responsibilities at a firehouse with his role as a rodeo rider. Fans of the previous series, particularly those mourning the departure of Captain Bobby Nash played by Peter Krause, may be hesitant to embrace a fresh cast. However, for those eager to dive into the Nashville-themed emergencies and enjoy some country music, anticipation is building.

While an official premiere date for 9-1-1: Nashville has yet to be revealed, ABC has included the show in its fall 2025 primetime lineup. It will air Thursdays, following the original 9-1-1, which has its episodes scheduled from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET, with Nashville airing from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET, available for next-day streaming on Hulu.

Filming for the new series is set to begin this summer in Nashville, Tennessee. The cast also includes notable names such as Jessica Capshaw from Grey’s Anatomy, country music icon LeAnn Rimes, and actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, offering an exciting mix for viewers.

As with the original series, the potential for crossover episodes exists, and Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, hinted at plans for a special event tied to 9-1-1: Nashville, suggesting that intersections between the series may be explored in the future.

Currently, no trailer is available for the new show, but a teaser from ABC has surfaced, teasing the adventures to come. In the meantime, fans can catch up on all eight seasons of 9-1-1, now streaming on Hulu.

The production of 9-1-1: Nashville is promising for the franchise and will likely excite both existing fans and new viewers looking for high-stakes drama infused with country flair.
