Miami Gardens Police are actively pursuing professional boxer Gervonta “Tank” Davis in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident that reportedly occurred last year. According to officials, the incident took place on October 27 at a gentlemen’s club in Miami Gardens where the victim was employed.
During a recent news conference, authorities presented details of the incident, which began when Davis allegedly grabbed the woman by the back of her head, pulling her forcefully toward a parking garage while holding her throat. After the altercation, the woman managed to escape and sought help from her coworkers. She sustained bruises on her left arm during the confrontation. For safety reasons, police have not disclosed the victim’s name or the name of the gentlemen’s club.
The victim reportedly had a relationship with Davis that began in 2022, which ended shortly before the incident. Surveillance footage has been identified by authorities as evidence that supports her account of the events. As a result, police have issued an arrest warrant for Davis on multiple charges, including battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping. They are collaborating with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in efforts to locate him.
Davis, age 31, has a history of facing domestic violence allegations in South Florida, including a notable incident last July when he was accused of assaulting the mother of his children. Additionally, he was arrested in Broward County in 2022 for another domestic violence case, as well as faced charges in Coral Gables stemming from a 2020 incident involving alleged abuse of a girlfriend, though those charges were eventually dropped.
This situation has drawn significant attention as it highlights ongoing concerns regarding domestic violence and the challenges surrounding accountability. The public and authorities alike are hopeful for justice for victims in similar situations, emphasizing the importance of support and protection for those who experience such incidents.
