Georgia’s Dominance: Bulldogs Crush Clemson 34-3 in Season Opener

In a challenging match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, No. 1 Georgia defeated No. 14 Clemson 34-3 during the Aflac Kickoff Game. The first half was tightly contested, featuring eight punts and only six points. Linebacker Wade Woodaz led Georgia with a career-high eight tackles, while Clemson’s defense shone through with sophomore lineman Peter Woods contributing 2.5 tackles for loss. Offensively, Antonio Williams stood out for Clemson with six receptions for 76 yards.

The match saw no scoring in the first quarter, with both teams exchanging punts on the first five possessions. Georgia scored first with a 30-yard field goal from Peyton Woodring in the second quarter, followed by a longer 55-yard field goal, giving them a 6-0 lead at halftime after a first half with only 50 total plays.

In the second half, Georgia extended its lead to 13-0 with a touchdown catch from Colbie Young. Clemson responded with a 26-yard field goal by freshman Nolan Hauser, bringing the score to 13-3. However, Georgia quickly pushed their advantage back to 20-3 with a one-yard touchdown run by Nate Frazier.

The Bulldogs continued to dominate, with London Humphreys scoring on a 40-yard reception and Malaki Starks intercepting a pass to set up a 15-yard rushing touchdown by Cash Jones, concluding the game at 34-3.
