ATLANTA — Many school districts throughout north Georgia have decided to cancel weekend events, leading to uncertainty about school operations on Monday. While some districts have opted for complete closures, others have chosen to implement virtual learning days.

Several districts have already made announcements regarding their Monday schedules:

– Cherokee County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26.
– City Schools of Decatur has declared a virtual learning day on the same date.
– Clayton County Schools and Dalton Public Schools will also be closed on Monday, along with all activities. Notably, a previously scheduled Clayton County Board of Education Work Session will be postponed to February 2, coinciding with the regular board meeting.
– Cobb County Schools will be closed on January 26.
– Dalton State College, DeKalb County Schools, Douglas County Schools, Fannin County Schools (virtual learning), Fulton County Schools (virtual learning), Forsyth County Schools (virtual learning), Gilmer County Schools, Gordon County Schools, Gwinnett County Schools (virtual learning), Habersham County Schools, Jackson County Schools, Pickens County Schools, Rabun County Schools, Towns County Schools (virtual learning), Union County Schools (virtual learning), University of Georgia – Athens, and Walker County Schools have all confirmed closures for Monday as well.
