Singapore, January 2, 2026 – HoYoverse, the global interactive entertainment brand, has announced the first update for Genshin Impact in 2026, titled Version Luna IV: “A Traveler on a Winter’s Night,” which will launch on January 14. This new update introduces two exciting playable characters: the Moon Maiden, Columbina, and Zibai, an Adeptus hailing from Liyue. In celebration, the beloved Lantern Rite event is set to return, providing a range of festive rewards to usher in the New Year in Teyvat. Additionally, players will embark on a crucial journey in Nod-Krai as they confront Il Dottore, leading to the unveiling of a new northern region, Piramida, headquarters of the Lightkeepers amid ongoing battles against the Wild Hunt.

As the story builds to a climactic confrontation, Il Dottore, having harnessed the power of the Moon Marrows, intensifies his research, setting the stage for a significant conflict with the Traveler and allies. This update promises to immerse players in a unique and chaotic realm where the very fabric of reality is altered. Completing the latest Archon Quest will reward players with a brand-new outfit, granting deeper insights into the Traveler’s expanding understanding of elemental power.

Columbina, recognized for her potent Hydro Catalyst abilities, is characterized as a 5-star character focusing on Lunar Reactions. Her kit allows her to trigger significant coordinated damage even while off-field, amplifying all Lunar Reactions through her special ability, Lunar Domain. This skill not only enhances damage but also creates additional resources and strikes, and can even revive a fallen teammate, aligning with her role as a supportive force in battles under the moon’s influence.

Meanwhile, Zibai, the new 5-star Geo Sword wielder, further enhances the potential of the newly introduced Lunar-Crystallize reaction. By building up unique energies, Zibai can unleash powerful abilities that capitalize on the dynamics of Lunar-Crystallize, contributing significantly to combat effectiveness as more reactions are triggered.

Version Luna IV will also feature two Event Wishes: the first phase showcases Columbina alongside a rerun of Ineffa, while the second phase introduces Zibai and Illuga, a four-star Geo Lightkeeper. Players will also have access to a special outfit for Neuvillette at a limited-time discount.

Exploration expands in Nod-Krai with the unveiling of the new region, Piramida, where players will join forces with the Lightkeepers against the Wild Hunt. The vibrant Lantern Rite celebrations in Liyue are also returning, featuring events, rewards, and stories about the Adepti. This year, the tale of Zibai, who emerges from reclusion, unfolds under the celestial signs of Zhanzhu the Moon-Devourer.

Players can expect numerous free rewards, including 1,600 Primogems, Ten Intertwined Fates through a login event, and opportunities to receive special gifts through participation in festive mini-games and events. Notably, Miliastra Wonderland will introduce a Classic Mode, enabling players to invite famed characters from Teyvat for engaging adventures on stage.

Launching on January 14, Genshin Impact Version Luna IV includes cross-progression and Co-Op features, allowing players to enjoy the game across PlayStation®, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS platforms. The game has received a T rating for Teen from the ESRB on various platforms.
