Garth Brooks Faces Shocking Allegations: Lawsuit Claims Assault and Extortion

Country music artist Garth Brooks is facing accusations of sexual assault and battery in a lawsuit filed by a hairstylist and makeup artist, referred to as “Jane Roe.” The lawsuit, filed in a California state court, alleges that the incidents took place in 2019, including a claim that Brooks raped her during a work trip.

In a statement, Brooks expressed that he has been subjected to relentless harassment, threats, and falsehoods over the past two months. He emphasized that he would not pay what he termed “hush money,” stating that doing so would imply an admission of misconduct, which he firmly denies. Brooks mentioned that he had previously filed a lawsuit against Roe to combat what he described as extortion and defamation, filing it anonymously to protect both families involved.

Roe began working with Brooks in 2017 and had previously provided services for his wife, Trisha Yearwood, since 1999. Brooks has left communication open concerning Yearwood’s potential response to the allegations.

Roe’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, countered Brooks’ claims, asserting that they are confident in their case and believe the public will, in time, see Brooks’ true character. The lawsuit details several alleged inappropriate behaviors by Brooks, including exposing himself, discussing sexual fantasies, and sending explicit messages.

Roe alleges that during a work-related incident in 2019 at Brooks’ home, he emerged from the shower naked and forced her hands onto his genitals while using vulgar language. In another claim from May 2019, she alleges that Brooks raped her during a work trip in Los Angeles. The lawsuit states that during the trip, Brooks only booked a hotel suite with one bedroom, creating an uncomfortable situation for Roe when he appeared naked at the bedroom doorway.

Following the alleged incident, Roe states that Brooks continued to pressure her with sexual comments and advances. In contrast, Brooks has claimed that a demand letter from Roe’s attorney, which accused him of sexual misconduct, was sent after he declined her request for employment and medical benefits, which he describes as unfounded.

Roe’s legal team criticized Brooks’ legal measures as desperate attempts to intimidate her into silence, expressing confidence that he will ultimately face justice for his actions. They highlighted that sexual predators are not confined to certain sectors and called attention to the prevalence of such issues within the country music industry as well.
