Country music icon Garth Brooks is facing serious allegations in a lawsuit filed in California, which accuses him of rape, sexual assault, and battery. The lawsuit was brought forth by an individual using the pseudonym “Jane Roe,” who was employed as a hairstylist and makeup artist for Brooks between 2017 and 2020.
According to the complaint, during a trip to Los Angeles for a Grammy tribute in May 2019, Brooks invited Roe to join him on his private jet. Upon arrival, Roe claims that Brooks had arranged for them to share a single hotel suite with one bedroom. The lawsuit details that when they entered the suite, Brooks allegedly appeared naked in the doorway and proceeded to sexually assault her.
Roe’s legal filing further alleges that Brooks continued to make unwanted sexual advances after the incident, coercing her into making physical contact with him and discussing explicit fantasies. Additionally, it claims he suggested the possibility of a threesome involving his wife, fellow country artist Trisha Yearwood.
In response to the allegations, Brooks has labeled the lawsuit as “extortion and defamation.” He expressed in a statement that he has been subjected to harassment and threats, stating that he has faced pressure to pay “hush money” for accusations he asserts are false and damaging to his character. Brooks emphasized his commitment to truth and his desire to maintain his music career and charitable efforts.
The legal dispute began three weeks ago when an anonymous complaint was filed in Mississippi federal court, describing Brooks as a “celebrity and public figure” residing in Tennessee. Brooks claims that the accusations surfaced after he declined Roe’s request for a paid position with benefits.
Jane Roe’s lawsuit includes various allegations, such as repeated instances of exposing himself, sending inappropriate messages, and making sexual comments. Garth Brooks, known for his philanthropic endeavors and a remarkable music career with over 162 million album sales and a net worth of approximately $400 million, remains in the public eye as the case unfolds.
