League of Legends is set to receive significant updates with the upcoming Patch 25.10. Gameplay Designer Matt Leung-Harrison recently unveiled details about the changes expected to roll out on May 7, 2025, focusing on reworked AP (Ability Power) items and crucial champion adjustments to enhance the gaming experience.
One of the biggest shifts involves several AP items, which are being restructured to promote a more utility-focused gameplay style while reducing their bulk. For instance, Cryptbloom will now provide increased ability haste but decreased damage, distinguishing it as a smoother option against Void Staff. Additionally, Hextech Rocketbelt will see its health reduced from 350 to 300, making it more suitable for fragile champions like assassins.
Stormsurge will also undergo significant changes, becoming cheaper while boosting movement speed but offering reduced damage, catering to snowball-heavy mages eager for early game influence. This move aligns with Riot’s attempt to shift away from the current tanky AP meta by also nerfing Liandry’s Anguish and making sweeping adjustments across the ecosystem.
Champion balance is also a priority in Patch 25.10. Vi, who has seen a rise in jungle dominance, will have her damage reduced while retaining crowd control abilities, ensuring she remains balanced. Fiddlesticks will see his abilities refined to maintain his effectiveness in both jungle and support roles. Meanwhile, Senna is set to receive a boost by reinstating the minion soul drop to enhance her performance in the AD bot lane.
Other changes include mild nerfs to Naafiri’s jungle effectiveness and enhancements to Cho’Gath’s top lane capabilities, ensuring his attack speed and E ability scale better without impacting his mid-lane strengths.
Riot Games is committed to monitoring these changes as the player community adapts, promising a refreshing shift in item builds and champion dynamics with Patch 25.10.
These updates present an exciting opportunity for players to explore new strategies and embrace fresh gameplay, reinforcing the ever-evolving nature of League of Legends.
