Paul Gallagher, the elder brother of Oasis frontmen Noel and Liam Gallagher, has been charged with multiple serious offences, including rape and sexual assault, according to Scotland Yard. The charges against the 59-year-old, who resides in East Finchley, encompass a range of allegations including coercive and controlling behavior, three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making threats to kill, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The incidents reportedly occurred between 2022 and 2024 and follow an investigation that commenced last year. A statement from Scotland Yard indicated that a woman involved is receiving support from specially trained officers.

Gallagher’s legal representatives emphasized that he has cooperated fully with law enforcement throughout the investigation, and he maintains his innocence, looking forward to clearing his name. He is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates Court on August 27.

This news comes at a time when Liam and Noel Gallagher are in the midst of their long-awaited Oasis reunion tour, marking their first live performances together in the UK since 2009. The tour, which was announced in 2024, began in Cardiff and will continue with scheduled shows in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, and additional international dates.

In a family known for their artistic contributions, Paul Gallagher has mostly remained out of the limelight concerning the band’s music industry success. He authored a book in 1997 titled “Brothers: From Childhood to Oasis,” which chronicled his upbringing with the iconic rock duo, who have often been in the public eye for their tumultuous relationship.

As this situation unfolds, it highlights the complexities of personal and public lives intertwining in the world of fame, as both the criminal proceedings and the ongoing tour generate significant attention. It remains crucial to remember that the legal process must take its course, and everyone is entitled to a fair trial and presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
