FX has announced an exciting cast lineup for its new pilot, Untitled Witness Protection, featuring Pablo Schreiber, Zoë Chao, Jamie Neumann, and Antonella Rose alongside Alison Brie, who is set to lead the project. This intriguing series stems from the minds of writers, executive producers, and showrunners Hannah Fidell and Gina Welch, with Fidell also directing the pilot.
Untitled Witness Protection, produced by FX Productions, is a fresh adaptation of a script previously unproduced by David Chase. The plot centers around a high-profile D.C. madam named Remy, portrayed by Brie, who finds herself caught in a violent confrontation. This events force her to betray her partner and enter witness protection in a quaint seaside town in Maine with her young daughter Liv, played by Rose.
The rest of the cast rounds out the intriguing ensemble. Schreiber takes on the role of a gun store owner who lends a hand to Remy, while Chao plays the mother of one of Liv’s friends. Neumann enters the scene as an escort in Remy’s new abode. The pilot reflects a complex blending of crime and drama with personal reinvention in a new environment.
Each cast member brings their own distinct flair and experience to the table. Schreiber, recognized for his Emmy-nominated role as George “Pornstache” Mendez in Orange Is the New Black, recently featured in crime drama Motor City and is set to appear in The Savant alongside Jessica Chastain for Apple TV+, and His & Hers with Tessa Thompson for Netflix. Chao, who has graced screens in The Roses and Apple TV+’s The Afterparty, further diversifies her portfolio with this project. Neumann continues to build on her impactful performances, previously seen in HBO’s The Deuce and is lined up for more indie film work. Rose’s versatility has been highlighted in projects like Fear the Walking Dead and the upcoming horror film Terrifier 3.
