John Stamos has reached out with heartfelt support for his former Full House co-star, Dave Coulier, following Coulier’s recent diagnosis of Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The news was shared by Coulier in an interview on the Today show, where he recounted his health struggles leading up to the diagnosis, which began with a swollen lymph node after feeling unwell for a month. Despite initial tests returning normal results, the lump continued to grow, leading to the decision to have it removed and biopsied. The shocking diagnosis of B-cell lymphoma came as a complete surprise to Coulier, leaving him feeling as though he had been “punched in the stomach.”
In a display of support, Stamos took to Instagram to express his solidarity with Coulier, posting a collection of nostalgic photos from their time on the beloved sitcom and captioning it, “My brother from day 1. Love you @dcoulier and I’ll be by your side through it all.” This display of camaraderie resonates deeply, especially in light of the close bonds formed during their years on Full House, which ran for nine seasons.
Coulier has already begun chemotherapy and anticipates completing his treatment by February 2025, describing the journey as a “roller coaster.” The enduring friendship among the Full House cast remains strong, particularly after the unexpected passing of fellow cast member Bob Saget in 2022, which had a profound impact on all of them.
Stamos, who was moved by Saget’s death, penned a memoir titled If You Would Have Told Me, which was published last year. In it, he reflects on his diverse experiences in acting and music, as well as his personal transformations, including becoming a father and achieving sobriety. Stamos candidly shared how Saget’s loss inspired him to document his life story and honor those who have significantly influenced him.
This poignant narrative highlights the supportive spirit of friendship in times of hardship, reminding us that even in the face of adversity, love and connection can provide strength. The close-knit nature of the Full House family serves as a beacon of hope and resilience for Coulier during his treatment.
