Frustration Grows as FSU Fans Call for Quarterback Change

Florida State football fans are growing increasingly frustrated with the team’s quarterback situation.

This discontent became evident when starting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, a transfer from Clemson via Oregon State, threw an interception during a fourth-down attempt early in the second half. The errant pass was intercepted by Boston College’s Max Tucker, who returned it 58 yards to Florida State’s 7-yard line. Just two plays later, Boston College scored a touchdown, extending their lead to 21-6, which prompted FSU fans to chant, “We want Brock.”

“Brock” refers to backup quarterback Brock Glenn, a 6-foot-2 redshirt freshman and a three-star recruit from the Seminoles’ 2023 recruiting class. According to 247Sports’ Composite rankings, he was the No. 30 quarterback and ranked No. 481 overall in the country.

Glenn made appearances in five games last season, completing 19 of 51 passes for 229 yards and two interceptions, as noted in his Florida State bio.

At the moment of the interception, Uiagalelei had completed fewer than 50% of his passes for just over 100 yards, along with one interception. However, he later responded with an impressive 3-of-4 passing drive for 73 yards, culminating in a 29-yard touchdown to Kentron Poitier, narrowing the score to 21-13.

It remains uncertain whether FSU fans will get their wish to see Glenn take the field.
