The Kingston Frontenacs Hockey Club has officially signed defenceman Matthew Henderson to an OHL Scholarship and Development agreement. Selected in the first round with the 17th overall pick during the 2025 OHL Priority Selection, Henderson is recognized for his skills as a two-way defenseman.
General Manager Kory Cooper praised Henderson’s playing style, emphasizing his smooth skating, strong defensive abilities, and physical engagement on the ice. The 6-foot, 172-pound player hails from Sarnia, Ontario, and has impressive stats from his time with the Huron Perth Lakers AAA program, where he accumulated 6 goals and 20 assists for a total of 26 points in 30 regular season games, along with 2 goals and 7 assists during the playoff season.

Henderson participated in the Frontenacs’ Development Camp earlier this May and will be attending the team’s training camp in late August.
