From Zero to Celebrity: The Journey of a Luxury Travel Guru

When Jaclyn Sienna India launched Sienna Charles, her luxury travel concierge service, in 2008, she was focused on creating an image of success, even when she didn’t have clients. “My husband thought I was the dumbest person in the world because we would get inquiries from people after seeing our articles, and I would have to decline, saying we were fully booked with high-net-worth clients. But really, I had no clients at all,” she shared.

Fast forward sixteen years, and India’s approach has paid off, landing her high-profile clients, including former President George W. Bush and celebrity figures like Mariah Carey. Her clientele consists of individuals earning over $100 million annually—people who seem to have it all. So what unique value does India offer?

She believes her impact lies in her ability to connect on a personal level. “My clients are incredibly influential, but making things happen requires genuine care and understanding,” she stated. Drawing on her experience as a server for five years, she places importance on understanding what drives people and believes that showing true concern for her clients is essential.

Sienna Charles features an extensive network of more than 2,000 relationships across various sectors in hospitality, including luxury yachts, elite hotels, and fine dining restaurants. These connections enable India to craft exclusive travel and culinary experiences tailored to her clients’ desires.

India emphasizes her role in transforming her clients’ visions into reality. “They have ideas but often lack the time or resources to realize them,” she explained. “I have a talent for grasping their vision with just a few words and bringing it to life.”

However, her service goes beyond merely securing access to the most glamorous destinations; it’s about ensuring a genuinely enriching experience. For instance, while she could easily get clients into prestigious restaurants like the three-Michelin-star French Laundry in Napa, she prefers to curate experiences she finds more special, such as Single Thread Farms.

While often known for arranging extraordinary events, like a candlelit dinner in Versailles or brunch on the Arc de Triomphe, India recognizes that sometimes her clients seek simpler comforts. She recalled how, during Bush’s trip to Ethiopia, she made sure he had familiar comforts like peanut butter and non-alcoholic beer, along with a warm welcome from local children wearing Texas Rangers caps.

“I care deeply about people,” she emphasized, noting that she often communicates with various individuals, from cab drivers to restaurant staff, to uncover the most authentic experiences for her clients. “The world offers more than just luxury—it encompasses a wide array of genuine experiences that my clients truly appreciate.”
