From Serving Tables to Serving Stars: Jaclyn Sienna India’s Journey in Luxury Travel

Jaclyn Sienna India launched Sienna Charles, her luxury travel concierge service, in 2008 with a commitment to “fake it until you make it.” Initially, she faced skepticism, including from her husband, as she claimed to have a busy schedule catering to high-net-worth individuals despite lacking clients.

Fast forward sixteen years, and India has established a prestigious clientele that includes notable figures like former President George W. Bush and celebrities such as Mariah Carey. She now provides services exclusively for clients earning over $100 million annually, who typically have access to many resources. However, India believes her offerings are distinct in that she provides genuine care and thoughtful service.

“My clients are extremely influential, but it’s not their connections that lead to success in experiences; it’s about empathy and attention,” India states. Drawing from her experience as a server, she understands the importance of connecting with people on a personal level. Her “black book” contains over 2,000 relationships within the hospitality industry, ranging from luxury hotels to fine dining restaurants, allowing her to curate unique travel and dining experiences.

India emphasizes comprehension of her clients’ desires, even when they may only express vague ideas. For her, creating worthwhile experiences goes beyond merely accessing exclusive venues. She notes, for instance, that she does not promote the renowned French Laundry restaurant in Napa, believing that other dining experiences, such as Single Thread Farms, offer greater intrigue.

Her events are often extraordinary; among her creations, she organized a candlelit dinner in Versailles and hosted brunch atop the Arc de Triomphe. She also pairs clients with significant personalities, arranging memorable interactions with families like Hermes and Fendi.

Sometimes, the needs of her clients are more straightforward, as when she addressed Bush’s comfort by providing familiar items such as peanut butter and non-alcoholic beer while he visited Ethiopia, where he was also welcomed by children in Texas Rangers caps.

“I truly care about people,” India shares. She engages with everyone from cab drivers to restaurant staff to discover unique opportunities for her clients, reflecting her belief that the world comprises more than just luxury; it encompasses authentic experiences.
