As November marks National Native American Heritage Month, she expresses pride in her heritage, emphasizing the importance of community and advocacy for Native American culture. “This month means a lot to me,” Cy said. “It’s about celebrating our past, present and future.”

Growing up in a close-knit environment, where she was an active sports enthusiast and a member of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska, Cy developed a strong sense of family and community. Her upbringing played a crucial role in her outlook, highlighting the importance of cherishing connections and giving back.

Before college, Cy’s prowess in volleyball blossomed at Heritage Christian Academy, where she emerged as a top player, earning numerous accolades, including all-state honors and leading her team to win four consecutive state championships.
