Jaclyn Sienna India launched Sienna Charles, her travel concierge business, in 2008 with a determination to succeed despite the challenges. Initially lacking clients, she often found herself on the phone pretending to be busy when inquiries came in from potential customers intrigued by her articles.
Fast forward sixteen years, and her perseverance has turned into success, with a clientele that includes prominent figures like former President George W. Bush and celebrity Mariah Carey. India caters to clients earning over $100 million a year, individuals who seemingly have access to everything. Yet, she emphasizes that what she offers extends beyond conventional resources.
“What makes the difference is care and leading from the heart,” India noted, drawing from her experience as a server for five years before starting her business. Her understanding of people’s needs helps her provide meaningful experiences.
Sienna Charles is known for its extensive connections within the hospitality sector, boasting a network of over 2,000 relationships, enabling India to craft special travel and dining experiences tailored to her clients’ desires.
“Clients have a vision but lack the tools and time to achieve it. I interpret their ideas from a few words and make them a reality,” she explained.
However, India prioritizes substance over luxury alone. Her curated experiences are often distinctive; she once orchestrated a candlelit dinner in Versailles and another time arranged brunch on the Arc de Triomphe.
She also prides herself on connecting her clients with influential personalities, organizing meals with notable families like the Hermes and Fendi clans.
At times, her approach is more personal and straightforward; for instance, during Bush’s trip to Ethiopia, she ensured his comfort by providing familiar items like peanut butter and non-alcoholic beer while arranging a welcoming sight of local children wearing Texas Rangers caps.
“My genuine care for people drives my work,” India stated, highlighting her commitment to discovering authentic experiences for her clients by engaging with everyone she meets, from cab drivers to restaurant staff. She believes that the essence of travel transcends luxury and embraces the richness of real experiences.
