Jaclyn Sienna India launched her travel concierge service, Sienna Charles, in 2008 with the mindset of “faking it until making it.” Initially, her husband doubted her ambitions as they received inquiries from clients interested in experiences like trips to Disney or weekends in New Jersey, despite her having no actual clientele.
Fast forward sixteen years, and India’s strategy has proven successful, attracting high-profile clients, including former President George W. Bush and celebrities such as Mariah Carey. Her exclusive services cater to individuals with annual incomes exceeding $100 million. So, what makes her offerings unique for those who seemingly have it all?
India emphasizes the importance of personal connections over power. With a background as a server, she knows how to connect with people and her focus is on genuine care. Her extensive network includes over 2,000 industry contacts in luxury hospitality, from hotels to yachts to upscale dining establishments, allowing her to design exceptional travel experiences tailored to her clients’ desires.
“My clients articulate their vision, and I help them realize it,” India said. She emphasizes that her goal goes beyond merely accessing exclusive venues; she wants to ensure that the experiences are truly meaningful. For instance, she might opt not to book tables at prestigious locations she’s not personally excited about because she believes there are often more intriguing options.
India recalls remarkable events she has organized for clients, including a candlelit dinner in Versailles and brunch on the Arc de Triomphe. She also facilitates unique encounters, such as meals with prominent families, including the Hermes and Fendi families in Rome.
Sometimes, however, the requests can be simpler. For Bush’s trip to Ethiopia, she made sure he had familiar comforts like peanut butter and non-alcoholic beer, and arranged for local children to welcome him wearing Texas Rangers caps.
At the core of India’s business philosophy is her genuine care for people. She engages with everyone from cab drivers to restaurant staff, ensuring her clients experience authentic moments rather than just luxury. “The world is not solely about high-end experiences; it’s about everything,” she asserts, highlighting her commitment to delivering true experiences for her clientele.
