From Faking to Fabulous: The Rise of a Luxury Travel Concierge

Jaclyn Sienna India established her boutique travel concierge, Sienna Charles, in 2008 with a determination to succeed despite initially lacking clients. Sixteen years later, she has built a successful business serving high-profile clients, including world leaders and celebrities, many of whom are high-net-worth individuals making over $100 million annually.

India recalls how, at the start, she would tell prospective clients that her services were fully booked, despite not having any clients at all. Her approach of “faking it until you make it” has led to a network of over 2,000 relationships within the hospitality industry, allowing her to provide unique travel and dining experiences.

India emphasizes that her role is not just about providing access to luxurious venues but also about understanding her clients’ desires and delivering personalized, meaningful experiences. She takes a unique approach to recommendations; for example, she prefers Single Thread Farms over the more renowned French Laundry, believing the former offers a more interesting culinary experience.

Her services often include extraordinary occurrences such as arranging a candlelit dinner in Versailles or brunch atop the Arc de Triomphe. Additionally, she coordinates unique opportunities for her clients, including meals with prominent personalities, such as the Hermes and Fendi families.

Despite the high-profile nature of her clientele, India also recognizes the value of simple comforts. When former President George W. Bush traveled to Ethiopia, she ensured he had his favorite comfort foods. Her commitment to her clients stems from a genuine care for their well-being and a desire to curate authentic experiences that go beyond luxury. India engages with everyone around her to discover intriguing options that enhance her clients’ adventures.
