From Faking It to Full Throttle: Inside the Luxury Life of Sienna Charles

In 2008, Jaclyn Sienna India launched Sienna Charles, her luxury travel concierge business, with the mindset of “fake it until you make it.” Initially, she faced skepticism, including from her husband, as she fielded inquiries from clients while not having any at the time.

Fast forward sixteen years, India has built a remarkable clientele that includes world leaders and celebrities such as Mariah Carey. Her services cater to individuals with annual incomes exceeding $100 million, people who seem to have it all. Yet, Indian offers something that is often overlooked—personalized care and attention.

“My clients are incredibly powerful and well-connected, but they need someone who genuinely cares to get things done,” India stated. Drawing from her experience as a server, she has learned the importance of understanding people’s needs and desires deeply.

Sienna Charles features an extensive network throughout the luxury hospitality industry, including connections with high-end restaurants, hotels, and yacht services. According to India, it’s the ability to interpret her clients’ vague aspirations and turn them into reality that sets her apart.

Her focus extends beyond just accessing exclusive venues; she prioritizes creating truly meaningful experiences. For example, India does not promote the well-known French Laundry restaurant, believing that other local dining experiences, like Single Thread Farms, provide more genuine culinary journeys.

India often crafts singular events for her clients, such as organizing a candlelight dinner in Versailles or brunch atop the Arc de Triomphe. She also arranges opportunities for her clients to meet notable personalities, such as family members from Hermes and Fendi.

Occasionally, her clients have more straightforward requests. For instance, when former President George W. Bush visited Ethiopia, she ensured he could enjoy peanut butter and non-alcoholic beer, and arranged for local children to greet him wearing Texas Rangers hats.

“I truly care about people,” India emphasizes, explaining that she engages with everyone from cab drivers to restaurant staff to discover unique experiences for her clients. “Luxury is just one part of the world; my clients seek authenticity in every aspect of their travels.”
