From Faking It to Famed: The Rise of a Luxury Travel Icon

In 2008, Jaclyn Sienna India launched Sienna Charles, her luxury travel concierge service, with a determined attitude of “faking it until making it.” At the time, her husband doubted her ambitions as she received inquiries from potential clients, claiming she was booked with high-net-worth individuals, despite not having any clients.

Fast forward sixteen years, India’s strategy has proven successful. She now caters to high-profile clients, including world leaders like former President George W. Bush and celebrities such as Mariah Carey, focusing on individuals whose annual income exceeds $100 million.

India emphasizes that her clients, despite their power and connections, value genuine care and personal touch over mere access. Drawing from her experience as a server, she understands the importance of attention and emotional connection in providing exceptional service.

Her impressive network includes over 2,000 contacts in the hospitality sector, including yachts, hotels, and upscale restaurants, allowing her to curate unique travel and dining experiences. She believes that while her clients have aspirations, they often lack the resources, time, and creativity to bring those visions to fruition, a gap she skillfully bridges.

India is not solely focused on luxury but aims to create meaningful experiences for her clients. For instance, she chooses not to promote the three-Michelin star restaurant French Laundry, finding alternatives like Single Thread Farms more appealing.

Her services have included arranging extraordinary experiences, such as a candlelit dinner in Versailles and brunch on the Arc de Triomphe. Additionally, she has facilitated encounters with notable personalities, hosting breakfast meetings with the Hermes family and lunches with the Fendi family in Rome.

At times, her clients request simpler comforts. For example, when Bush visited Ethiopia, she ensured he had peanut butter and non-alcoholic beer available, while local children welcomed him wearing Texas Rangers caps.

India’s commitment to her clients is rooted in her genuine caring nature. She dedicates her time to connecting with everyone, from cab drivers to restaurant staff, to uncover unique experiences that transcend luxury, focusing instead on authenticity and enriching moments.
