Fresh’et Super Butcher has expanded its presence by launching its sixth outlet at the newly established Nasinu Market in Laqere. Managing Director Richard Chow highlights that this initiative aims to serve families along the bustling Nasinu–Nausori corridor, focusing particularly on middle and lower-income households seeking dependable access to fresh meat and fish.
Chow noted that discussions with the Nasinu Town Council last year underscored the necessity for a butcher in the new market, facilitating the path for this expansion. The new branch is set to cater not only to the residents of Nasinu but also to those in Laucala Beach and other nearby communities along the Kings Highway.
To meet the anticipated demand, Fresh’et procures its products both locally and internationally, importing pork, lamb, poultry, and fish to ensure a steady supply and manage local shortages throughout the year. Chow expressed hope that the Fijian government would consider sourcing products from other countries to provide more affordable options for the people of Fiji.
Felix Magnus, the CEO and Chair of the Nasinu Town Council, remarked that the new butcher is expected to boost foot traffic, particularly on weekends, which in turn will create enhanced sales opportunities for other market vendors. He added that the development was driven by feasibility studies aimed at addressing community needs, believing that an influx of shoppers will translate to more business for the wider Laqere market.
This new outlet not only represents a victory for local families seeking quality food options but also strengthens community ties by fostering economic growth in the region.
