Frank Fritz of “American Pickers” Passes Away at 60: A Legacy Remembered

Frank Fritz, the co-star of “American Pickers,” has passed away at the age of 60. The Iowa native died on Monday, September 30, following a two-year battle with health issues that began after he suffered a stroke, exacerbating his chronic Crohn’s disease. Fritz was a prominent figure on the antique hunting show for over ten years and also owned an antique store in Savanna, Illinois, named Frank Fritz Finds.

The History Channel and Cineflix Production released a statement expressing their sorrow over Fritz’s death, describing him as “the bearded charmer” known for his passionate search for vintage motorcycles and bikes. They extended their condolences to his family and friends, stating that he would be deeply missed.

Born on October 11, 1963, Fritz was celebrated for his authenticity and sensitivity, traits that his co-star Mike Wolfe highlighted in an emotional Instagram tribute. Wolfe shared that he had known Fritz for half of his life and cherished the countless adventures they shared while searching for rare antiques across the country.

The duo’s journey on “American Pickers” began in 2010, and their bond remained strong even after Fritz’s health challenges. The two last reunited in June 2023 after Fritz’s stroke.

Fritz hailed from Davenport, Iowa, located about 24 minutes from the original “American Pickers” store, Antique Archaeology, situated in LeClaire, Iowa. The show also operates additional locations in Nashville, Tennessee, and Columbia, Tennessee.
