Fox News announced on Tuesday that Aishah Hasnie has been appointed as its new White House correspondent and Saturday anchor, taking the lead on a weekly two-hour broadcast.
Jay Wallace, president and executive editor of Fox News Media, expressed confidence in Hasnie’s capabilities, highlighting that her extensive knowledge of Washington makes her an excellent fit for the White House team. “We are confident she will excel in the anchor chair as well,” he noted in a statement.
Since joining Fox News in 2019, Hasnie has served as a senior national correspondent, covering both the 2020 and 2024 election campaigns before transitioning to a role on Capitol Hill. Her previous experience includes positions at WXIN, Fox’s Indianapolis affiliate, and CBS affiliate WANE in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
In her own statement, Hasnie expressed her excitement, stating, “I am thrilled for the opportunity to deliver critical information to our viewers across the country in the anchor chair and honored to join our prestigious White House correspondent team.”
The appointment comes at a time when Fox News is making significant changes to its programming lineup. Recently, the network has increasingly utilized its correspondents and analysts. In September, it launched “The Sunday Briefing,” hosted by correspondents Jacqui Heinrich and Peter Doocy, which replaced the long-standing “MediaBuzz.” Furthermore, analyst Kayleigh McEnany now hosts a two-hour Saturday morning show, “Saturday in America,” while Johnny “Joey” Jones and Tomi Lahren have taken on hosting duties for “The Big Weekend Show.”
Hasnie’s promotion aligns with the network’s recent strategy to enhance its coverage and respond to the evolving political landscape, bringing further expertise to its viewers during an important time in American politics.
