Fortnite’s Exciting Comeback: iOS Gamers Rejoice!

Epic Games has announced the long-awaited return of Fortnite to iOS devices, ending a hiatus that lasted several years after a contentious legal dispute with Apple. Founder Tim Sweeney revealed that players can expect to access the popular battle royale game sometime soon, stirring excitement among fans who primarily use iOS for gaming.

The news was shared via the official Fortnite X account, previously known as Twitter, where it was confirmed that the Fortnite app has been submitted to Apple for approval, marking a significant step towards reestablishing its presence on the U.S. App Store.

To recap, Epic Games faced a setback in 2020 when its developer account with Apple was revoked amidst escalating tensions between the two entities. The European Union’s Digital Markets Act, enacted last year, required Apple to permit the launch of the Epic Games Store, resulting in Apple granting a limited developer account within the EU. However, uncertainties lingered regarding Epic’s ability to operate in the American market following a recent court ruling that did not specifically mention the company or its flagship game.

As for downloading Fortnite on iOS, while the official methods are yet to be confirmed, players may soon be able to install the game directly from the App Store, provided the legal hurdles have been lifted.

The return of Fortnite to iOS not only signals a triumph for Epic Games in overcoming legal challenges but also revitalizes hopes for iOS gamers seeking their favorite battle royale experience. This move could open the door for more cross-platform gaming opportunities in the future.
