Ford Motor Company is issuing a recall for over 280,000 vehicles, specifically targeting safety concerns related to brake and steering systems. This recall includes more than 273,000 units of the 2022-2024 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator. The problem arises from potentially defective front brake lines that may come into contact with the engine’s air cleaner outlet pipe. Such contact could lead to brake fluid leaks and a significant reduction in braking efficacy, heightening the risk of accidents.

Affected owners should reach out to their local Ford dealership for a free inspection and necessary repairs involving either the front brake line or air cleaner outlet pipe. Notification letters to vehicle owners are anticipated to be dispatched on May 26, 2025. For further assistance, owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, referring to recall number 25S47.

Additionally, nearly 9,200 units of the 2025 Ford F-150 model are included in another recall due to concerns that the lower intermediate shaft fasteners may not be properly attached to the steering gear. If these fasteners become loose or detach, it could lead to a loss of steering control, increasing the likelihood of crashes. Owners of these vehicles should similarly contact their dealers for free inspections and repairs, as needed. Notification letters for this issue are also set to go out on May 26, 2025, and Ford customer service can be contacted regarding this recall under number 25S46.

Concerned owners have the option to further inquire through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 for additional guidance.

The proactive nature of this recall underlines Ford’s commitment to safety and accountability, aiming to prevent potential accidents before they occur. It is always advisable for vehicle owners to be aware of recalls to ensure their safety and the safety of others on the road.
