Army Boxer Foama Seru Sparks Day One Win as Sukuna Bowl Kicks Off

Foama Seru Clinches Opening-Day Victory for Army at Ratu Sukuna Bowl

ARMY boxer Foama Seru secured a significant victory on the opening day of the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl boxing competition, triumphing over Fenton Thagard from the Police Academy in Nasova. The match was halted in the second round by the referee due to Thagard’s inability to proceed, marking a brilliant start for Seru.

Alfred Ledua, the head coach of the Army boxing team, expressed his pride in the athletes’ performances on this inaugural day. He emphasized that hard work outweighs mere talent, commending the boxers for their dedication. “It is a great start to the competition; both teams fought well, and it’s only day one,” Ledua stated.

Acknowledging the formidable challenge posed by the defending champions, Ledua remained optimistic about his team’s capabilities. He pointed out the need to evaluate their strategies and learn from their experiences in the ring. “Police is a tough side with more experienced boxers, but we set our targets for day one and achieved them. We will analyze our performance and come back stronger for the finals,” he remarked.

Grateful for the efforts of the boxers leading up to the tournament, Ledua encouraged them to continue their hard work as they aim for success in the upcoming matches. “Thanks to the boxers for their dedication leading up to this competition. We hope for the best on days two and three,” he added.

With boxing events slated to continue, the competition is building excitement as it heads toward its finals on Wednesday. The Ratu Sukuna Bowl represents not only a platform for showcasing athletic prowess but also a celebration of unity and sportsmanship within the boxing community. As local fans eagerly anticipate thrilling performances in the days ahead, the tournament promises to fuel the passion for the sport.
