The Fiji National University (FNU) has successfully launched its first roadshow in Somosomo, Taveuni, marking an important milestone in its commitment to providing high-quality higher education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to Fiji’s remote and rural populations. This initiative underscores FNU’s resolve to bring educational opportunities directly to those living far from urban areas.
Among the enthusiastic attendees was Maria Tonina Manabua from Villamaria Settlement in Bouma, who expressed her thrill at receiving her offer letter to study for a Bachelor of Education at FNU. “I am so excited to go home with my offer letter to pursue a Bachelor of Education at FNU. I waited for the FNU team from early morning because I did not want to miss this opportunity to study with the best,” she noted, highlighting the significance of the event.
Another student, Soro Vakagone, shared similar feelings. After receiving her offer for the Bachelor of Education program, she remarked on the joy she felt. “It was a really good feeling to receive my offer letter, and I will be studying for a Bachelor of Education this year,” she said, emphasizing the importance of this new chapter in her educational journey.
The FNU Roadshow has been well-received across the nation, providing a valuable platform for students to inquire about their educational paths and express any concerns regarding their studies at the university. This proactive approach not only enhances educational accessibility but also empowers students, giving them more control over their future.
FNU’s dedication to reaching every corner of Fiji represents a hopeful step toward a brighter future for many aspiring students, ensuring that the opportunity for quality education extends beyond geographic limitations. The excitement and positivity surrounding these roadshows reflect the significant impact they are making in the Fijian community.
