FlyQuest’s Heartbreaking Exit: A Clash of Titans at MSI 2025

In a thrilling conclusion to their journey at the 2025 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational, FlyQuest ended their run in 5th-6th place after a hard-fought series against Bilibili Gaming (BLG), who secured a narrow 3-2 victory in a best-of-five match.

FlyQuest, representing the LTA as the first seed, had a mixed performance throughout the tournament. They suffered a defeat against LPL’s top team, Anyone’s Legend, in the Upper Bracket’s Round 1, losing 3-1. However, they rebounded strongly, sweeping G2 Esports 3-0 in the first round of the Lower Bracket.

BLG entered the competition as the second seed from the LPL and had made an impressive run through the Play-ins before their Upper Bracket journey began. They managed to defeat Movistar KOI but fell to T1 with a score of 0-3, leading them to the Lower Bracket where they ultimately faced FlyQuest.

The series against FlyQuest showcased the competitive spirit of both teams. In Game 1, FlyQuest demonstrated their prowess by taking an early lead and excelling in team fights, decisively winning with a staggering 23-9 kill count. However, BLG responded in the second game by capitalizing on strategic plays, particularly in FlyQuest’s jungle, where they gained a crucial gold lead that pushed them to victory.

The back-and-forth continued in the third and fourth games, with both teams trading aggressive plays and strategies. BLG forged ahead after a decisive Baron fight in Game 3, while FlyQuest came back strong in Game 4, taking the momentum to force a decisive fifth game.

In the final game, BLG displayed renewed vigor and capitalized on FlyQuest’s mistakes, leading to a commanding win that saw them take the series. With their victory, BLG will advance to face Anyone’s Legend in the next round of the playoffs.

FlyQuest may have exited the tournament, but they leave with a commendable prize of $160,000. Their performance showcased both resilience and skill, and while the outcome wasn’t what they hoped for, they have laid a strong foundation for future tournaments.
