The Florida International Air Show (FIAS) board has confirmed that the 2025 event will proceed as scheduled, despite the current federal government shutdown. The board is closely monitoring the situation, yet they have prepared a detailed contingency plan in case the U.S. Navy Blue Angels or the F-16 Viper Demo Team are unable to participate.

In a bid to ensure a thrilling experience for attendees, FIAS has enlisted one of the nation’s premier civilian jet performers, Randy Ball, who will showcase the iconic MiG-17 Jet Fighter. He will be joined by another MiG-17, creating an exciting display that promises to be one of the most exhilarating in the event’s history. Additionally, accomplished performer Matt Younkin is on standby to present his impressive Twin-Engine Beechcraft routine if necessary.

Denise Dull, President of the Florida International Air Show, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event. “The Air Show is a go! We’re thrilled to have incredible civilian performers like Randy Ball and Matt Younkin ready to join our already exciting lineup. This will be a fun, family-friendly weekend filled with aviation excitement, STEM exploration, and community pride — no matter what happens in Washington,” she stated.

The event will also feature a variety of acts, including Warbird Thunder, Aarron Deliu, and Doug Litton, alongside an impressive static aircraft display, which includes the B-29 Bomber “DOC,” at Punta Gorda Airport. Families can look forward to the Innovator’s STEM Pavilion, providing hands-on science and technology exhibits as well as opportunities to meet aviation innovators.

Countless dedicated volunteers are working diligently behind the scenes to ensure the air show is a resounding success, contributing their energy and commitment to deliver a safe, exciting, and memorable experience for all attendees.

As a nonprofit organization, the Florida International Air Show is committed to honoring both military and civilian aviation, inspiring future generations through STEM education, and supporting local charities. Since its inception, FIAS has donated over $5 million to community causes while delivering world-class aviation entertainment to Southwest Florida.

The Florida International Air Show is set for Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be located at 28000 Airport Road, Punta Gorda, with ticket prices ranging from $21.42 to $191.35. Online ticket purchases are encouraged to minimize waiting times at the gate. For more information, visit www.floridaairshow.com.
