Fleetwood, Perry Among Names Joining Rock Hall Induction Lineup

Mick Fleetwood and Joe Perry are among the latest additions to the roster of artists set to participate in this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which is scheduled for November 8 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The excitement continues to build around this annual gala as more renowned names join the lineup.

Among the newly announced artists are Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains, Nancy Wilson of Heart, the Killers, Bryan Adams, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Gina Schock of the Go-Go’s, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Fleetwood is expected to deliver the induction speech for Bad Company, as revealed by drummer Simon Kirke in a recent interview. Cyndi Lauper will also be inducted, reportedly by Chappell Roan, who is anticipated to perform at the event.

In an earlier announcement, it was confirmed that iconic figures such as Elton John and Iggy Pop would also be attending. Additionally, David Letterman is set to honor his late friend, Warren Zevon, who is receiving this year’s Musical Influence Award.

The 40th edition of this prestigious event promises to be star-studded, with notable appearances from Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beck, Missy Elliott, Questlove, Brandi Carlile, and Olivia Rodrigo. The induction ceremony will be broadcast live on Disney+ at 8 p.m. EST, with on-demand streaming available post-event. ABC plans to air a primetime special highlighting performances on January 1, with the standout moments scheduled for release on Hulu the following day.

While there has been uncertainty regarding a performance by Bad Company due to Paul Rodgers’ health concerns, Kirke has confirmed that both he and Rodgers will perform two songs together during the ceremony. The surviving members of Soundgarden are also gearing up to perform, with recent social media posts from drummer Matt Cameron showcasing rehearsals with his bandmates.

The induction ceremony also holds intrigue for potential tributes to Joe Cocker, especially with the presence of the Tedeschi Trucks Band, who previously honored him with a tribute performance. Given Bryan Adams’ past collaborations with Cocker, he is also likely to participate. Lauper’s expected performance adds another dynamic element, even as some legendary figures like bassist Carol Kaye and rock icon Chubby Checker have stated they will not attend.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame chairman John Sykes expressed the significance of the induction ceremony, stating, “Each year, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony brings together the most influential artists in music today to honor their heroes who have inspired their music and careers. These artists come from around the world to create lifetime musical moments that will live on forever.”

This year’s event is shaping up to be a memorable night celebrating the rich legacy of rock music, with the promise of exceptional performances and heartfelt tributes illuminating the contributions of these iconic artists.
