PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Tommy Fleetwood announced on Thursday that he is currently an apparel free agent after his contract with Nike came to an end. The world’s No. 3 golfer and reigning FedEx Cup champion shared that he and Nike parted ways without reaching a new agreement for this year.
Reflecting on his newfound freedom, Fleetwood expressed excitement about the opportunity to don apparel from various prestigious golf courses. While visiting the pro shop at Pebble Beach, he was proudly wearing merchandise emblazoned with the iconic logo of the legendary venue. “This is cool,” Fleetwood remarked. “I feel like I’m a big golf fan. I really like golf stuff, so it’s quite nice to be wearing Pebble Beach clothing. My kids would absolutely love this stuff, so I feel pretty lucky to have it on.”
In the past, Fleetwood enjoyed wearing apparel that showcased different golf courses but found it challenging under the constraints of his previous sponsorship. Recently, he has also been seen wearing pieces from other brands such as Lululemon and Vuori. Although he hasn’t signed any new deals yet, his popularity and visibility on the tour make him a sought-after figure in the golfing world.
Fleetwood candidly shared his fondness for collecting hats from various courses. He highlighted the memorable nature of these logos and the unique connections they represent. “I mean, there are some amazing logos around the world, and I think they’re just like memorable pieces when you come to a special place,” he said, noting that his collection has certainly expanded.
With the possibility of future partnerships on the horizon, Fleetwood’s journey as an apparel free agent allows him to explore his love for the game while showcasing his personality through his attire. This fresh chapter in his career may not only invigorate his wardrobe but also resonate with fans who appreciate his style both on and off the course.
