NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Significant weather changes are anticipated starting Friday and continuing into the following week. Today has been designated as a First Alert Weather Day, highlighting the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms across Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.

The region faces a severe weather threat rated at a level 2 out of 5 on the risk scale for much of the Midstate. While an isolated thunderstorm remains a possibility earlier this afternoon, the primary concern centers around a peak window between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. when the severe weather risk is heightened.

The main threats from these storms are expected to include heavy rain, damaging winds, and the chance of small hail. There is also a possibility of isolated tornado activity. The most significant risks will affect areas along and east of Interstate 65.

Looking ahead, residents should prepare for two additional First Alert Weather Days on Monday and Tuesday morning as the region braces for the first freeze of the season during the second week of November. Nashville is forecasted to begin Monday with a temperature of 30 degrees, but the wind will make it feel even colder. Tuesday morning is predicted to be even chillier, with temperatures dropping to around 26 degrees in Nashville, and nearing 20 degrees on the Cumberland Plateau.

It’s important for residents to stay informed and monitor local weather updates as this dynamic weather system moves through the area.
