The highly anticipated Final X series featuring 2023 World champion Vito Arujau and U.S. Open champion Jax Forrest is set to unfold on July 14 in Fargo, North Dakota. This event, held at the Fargodome during the 2025 U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals, was initially scheduled for June 14 but faced a delay due to Arujau’s medical request, a privilege granted due to his status as a returning Senior World medalist.
The best-of-three series promises to showcase thrilling wrestling action, with round one kicking off at 3:50 p.m. (CT) and round two starting at 5 p.m. (CT). Should a third round be necessary, it will commence 30 minutes after the conclusion of the second match. Both competitors are known for their dynamic offensive styles, making their match-up particularly exciting for spectators.
While Arujau and Forrest have yet to face off at the Senior level, both entered the 2024 Senior World Team Trials, where Arujau clinched victory and Forrest secured third place. Arujau, who has competed primarily at the 61 kg weight class for the past two years, boasts an impressive record that includes a Senior World title in 2023 and a bronze medal in 2022. Additionally, he has earned multiple accolades as a two-time age-group World silver medalist and two-time Senior Pan American champion.
Jax Forrest, at just 18 years old, has already made his mark in the wrestling world by earning a silver medal at the 2022 U17 World Championships. Last year, he made headlines by winning the Last Chance Olympic Trials Qualifier and securing a fourth-place finish at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials at 57 kg. Currently, Forrest holds the 61 kg position for the U.S. at the upcoming U23 World Championships and qualified for Final X by winning the U.S. Open in Las Vegas.
Both wrestlers have impressive backgrounds, with Arujau being a two-time NCAA champion and four-time NCAA All-American for Cornell University, and Forrest set to enter his senior year at Bishop McCourt High School, having committed to wrestle for Oklahoma State University.
