The Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji recently celebrated a significant milestone with its 67th Annual General Meeting held at Pt Shreedhar Maharaj College. National President Dhirendra Nand highlighted the organization’s dedication to enhancing youth engagement, expanding community services, and increasing educational opportunities across the country.
A key development from the meeting was the merging of the former Youth and Sports Wings into the new Sanatan Youth and Sports Wing. This restructuring is designed to empower young leaders and promote sportsmanship among the youth. Additionally, the Sabha unveiled a new official flag, featuring the organization’s colors of yellow, red, and orange, which symbolize unity, resilience, and a forward-looking vision for Sanatan Fiji.
The meeting also outlined several initiatives aimed at improving governance in Sanatan schools, building partnerships with the Fiji Prison Department and Pacific Health Specialists, and advocating against smoking and alcohol on religious premises. Furthermore, there are plans to establish a Northern Headquarters in Vanua Levu, initiate a Gau Shala project in the Western Division, and create a counseling center. A new official website is also being launched to enhance connectivity among members, both locally and internationally.
President Nand reaffirmed the Sabha’s commitment to its core values of “Unity, Faith, and Service,” expressing enthusiasm for collaborating with all Sanatanis to achieve further accomplishments. Historically, these gatherings have underscored the Sabha’s role in promoting national unity and societal well-being through educational initiatives and social services.
The Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha remains a pivotal faith-based organization in Fiji, preserving cultural heritage while adapting to modern needs. Its efforts resonate with the broader societal objectives of fostering inclusion, resilience, and community empowerment within Fiji’s rich and diverse cultural landscape.
