Fifty schools across Fiji, particularly those in remote and maritime regions where access to digital resources is often limited, are about to receive a much-needed boost with the donation of new laptops from the ASCO Foundation. This significant initiative was marked by an official handover ceremony to the Ministry of Education in Nabua, Suva, emphasizing a commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable education throughout the country.
During the event, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro highlighted the government’s dedication to enhancing digital learning opportunities for all students, regardless of their location. He expressed the belief that this initiative will help students become more comfortable and proficient with technology, which is essential in today’s digital age.
The ASCO Foundation’s trustee and CEO of ASCO Motors Fiji, Ronald Kumar, noted that the donation aims to bridge the digital divide, underscoring the fact that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and succeed, irrespective of their resources or geographical location. In support of this initiative, Datec Fiji has committed to providing one year of technical backup and maintenance for the laptops, ensuring schools receive ongoing assistance to maximize their use.
