A 34-year-old man has been charged in connection with an ongoing investigation into the illegal importation of liquid methamphetamine. Authorities allege that he was driving a vehicle transporting two individuals who had previously been arrested for various offenses, including the unlawful possession of drugs, unlawful importation, and holding property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.
After consulting with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), the man has been charged with one count of Unlawful Transportation of Illicit Drugs and is set to appear in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
