Fiji Kulas coach Angeline Chua expressed her satisfaction with the team’s preparation as they gear up to face Papua New Guinea in the opening match of the Melanesian Spearhead Group Prime Ministers Cup next week. The national women’s football team has been diligently training at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa, focusing on fitness, teamwork, and tactical discipline to enhance their performance. Fiji is set to open their campaign against Papua New Guinea Reds on Monday at 3 PM at the Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby. Coach Chua highlighted the team’s strong commitment and self-belief developed during their preparation, which included previous friendly matches against tough opponents.
In this tournament, Fiji competes in Group B alongside the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea Reds. The competition is significant, as the top teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on November 20, culminating in the grand finale on November 22. Following their opener, Fiji will face the Solomon Islands in their second pool game on November 17.
