The Pacific Recycling Foundation (PRF) has announced the renewal of its partnership with Nestlé Fiji for Global Recycling Day 2026, continuing their collaboration for the third consecutive year. This significant event is scheduled to take place in Suva on March 18, 2026, and aims to convene leaders from various sectors—including government, industry, academia, and grassroots organizations—to tackle Fiji’s pressing waste management issues.

Amitesh Deo, the founder of PRF, emphasized the importance of private sector involvement in enhancing national discussions on effective waste management and fostering innovative, sustainable solutions. He praised Nestlé Fiji for its proactive support of grassroots recycling organizations through the annual event, recognizing the vital role they play in community engagement.

Tim Inkster, General Manager of Nestlé Fiji, reiterated the company’s dedication to sustainability through collaborative efforts and shared responsibility. The event organizers believe that this year’s gathering will further solidify cross-sector cooperation and encourage community-driven recycling initiatives not only in Fiji but also across the broader Pacific region.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to enhancing environmental practices and addressing the growing challenges posed by waste. As Global Recycling Day 2026 approaches, there is optimism for increased awareness and actionable strategies that benefit both the environment and local communities.
