The Fiji Revenue Customs Service (FRCS) has officially opened a new office in Ba, aiming to improve service delivery and reinforce compliance in the area. The inauguration event, which took place last week, marks a significant advancement for the organization.

Finance Minister Esrom Immanuel emphasized that the establishment of the Ba office represents more than just a physical upgrade; it reflects the substantial progress FRCS has achieved in recent years. The Minister remarked on the agency’s dedication to modernizing its operations, strengthening leadership, and enhancing compliance frameworks, all aimed at servicing taxpayers more effectively and fairly.

Immanuel also noted Fiji’s recent removal from the European Union’s blacklist of non-cooperative jurisdictions, highlighting this development as evidence of FRCS’s successful reforms in tax transparency and governance. He commended the organization’s hard work over the past three years, stating that this achievement significantly boosts global confidence in Fiji’s tax administration.

Udit Singh, the Chief Executive Officer of FRCS, added that the new office is set to better cater to the needs of the local community while fostering economic growth. He conveyed that the opening of the Ba office symbolizes collaboration and a commitment to enhancing service for all citizens.

The new office is situated on Level One of the FIFA Building, situated above the Bank of South Pacific on Ganga Singh Street in Ba. This initiative embodies a forward-thinking approach to public service, aiming to stimulate local economic development and exemplifying FRCS’s commitment to transparency, responsiveness, and high performance. The establishment of this office is expected to create a positive impact within the community, enhancing service accessibility for the people of Ba and surrounding areas.
