Fiji Unveils Tourism Beyond Boundaries at 2026 Convention

Fiji’s 2026 Tourism Convention Promises Beyond Boundaries Vision

The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation has announced that the Third Fiji Tourism Convention (FTC) is scheduled for January 22 and 23, 2026, at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa in Nadi. This prominent national forum will gather leaders from the tourism sector, including government officials, industry stakeholders, and community representatives, with the collective goal of shaping the future of Fiji’s visitor economy.

Under the theme “Tourism Beyond Boundaries,” this year’s convention emphasizes the sector’s dedication to enhancing resilience, promoting inclusivity, and fostering sustainable development. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka, articulated that the theme reflects a renewed vision for Fiji’s tourism landscape. He expressed that “Tourism beyond boundaries is about pushing past conventional limits—bringing communities to the center, enhancing partnerships, and exploring new ways of delivering value for every Fijian and every visitor. Tourism is woven into our land, oceans, cultures, livelihoods, and the aspirations of our people.”

Building upon the successes of prior conventions, the FTC aims to broaden discussions to encourage cross-sector collaboration, community engagement, and long-term resilience. Dr. Paresh Pant, CEO of Tourism Fiji, emphasized that the convention serves as a vital platform for aligning national tourism priorities and solidifying Fiji’s position in a competitive global market. He remarked, “This Convention helps us understand emerging needs, hear directly from our industry and communities, and refine how we promote and market Fiji. When our foundations at home are stronger, our marketing can go further.”

Throughout the two-day event, participants will partake in keynote presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, all designed to build upon the resolutions established in the previous convention. This forum will be critical as Fiji continues its journey of tourism growth, focusing on resilience and inclusivity. The FTC promises to be a landmark event for Fiji’s tourism future, fostering optimism for a flourishing economy that benefits both visitors and local communities.
