The Fijian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has issued a safety advisory to Fijians living in the UAE and other Gulf countries, as well as the broader Middle East and North Africa region, in light of increasing tensions involving Israel, the United States, and Iran. This move reflects the Embassy’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Fijian nationals amid potentially unstable circumstances.

The advisory encourages Fijians to remain calm and to stay indoors if necessary while also following local regulations and guidelines. Non-essential travel is discouraged, as the Embassy works closely with local authorities in the UAE and surrounding areas to monitor the evolving situation.

Fijian nationals have been provided with important contact information for urgent assistance from First Secretary Sanaila Laqai and Second Secretary Jaljeet Kumar. Additionally, the Embassy has advised individuals to prepare essential items, including passports, medications, food, water, mobile phones with chargers, hygiene products, first aid supplies, and copies of important documents.

While the Embassy emphasizes that these precautions are merely preventive, it assures nationals that clear instructions will be communicated should any evacuation or further actions be required. This proactive stance serves to reassure Fijians abroad during these uncertain times, providing a sense of hope and security despite the rising tensions in the region.
