The Fijian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has issued a safety advisory for Fijians residing in the UAE, other Gulf countries, and the broader Middle East and North Africa region amid escalating tensions involving Israel, the United States, and Iran. This alert signifies the Embassy’s proactive approach to ensure the welfare of Fijian nationals in potentially volatile circumstances.

In its advisory, the Embassy emphasizes the importance of remaining calm, staying indoors when necessary, adhering to local instructions, and refraining from non-essential travel. The Embassy is actively collaborating with local authorities in the UAE and neighboring nations to keep abreast of evolving situations.

Fijians have been provided with critical contact details by First Secretary Sanaila Laqai and Second Secretary Jaljeet Kumar for any urgent assistance. Additionally, the advisory recommends that Fijians prepare essential items such as passports, necessary medications, food and water, mobile phones with chargers, hygiene products, first aid supplies, and copies of important documents.

While the Embassy underscores that these measures are purely precautionary, it assures nationals that clear guidance will be provided should any evacuation or further actions become necessary. This proactive response highlights the Embassy’s commitment to safeguarding the well-being of Fijians abroad during uncertain times, instilling hope and reassurance amidst rising tensions in the region.
