The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has announced an exciting new initiative for its supporters with the launch of the Drua Matavuvale Membership, specifically targeting fans in New Zealand. This unique membership provides an opportunity for supporters to foster a closer connection with the club as the 2026 Shop N Save Super Supermarket Rugby Pacific season approaches.

The initiative kicks off with a pre-season trial match against the Chiefs at Mount Maunganui this Friday. Initially available only in New Zealand, the Drua Matavuvale Membership is limited to 100 members, each priced at NZ$100. This premium membership aims to create a culturally enriched and personalized experience, thereby reinforcing the club’s bond with its international fanbase.

Shane Hussein, the General Manager for Commercial at Fijian Drua, highlighted the significance of this initiative, acknowledging the passion and loyalty of Drua supporters across the Tasman Sea. He remarked, “We know that the Drua have one of the most passionate fanbases in the world, and our supporters in New Zealand are a massive part of that energy. ‘Matavuvale’ means family, and this membership is about bridging the ocean and bringing our New Zealand whānau right into the heart of the club.”

Members will receive a special membership pack that includes a Drua Matavuvale hat and a personalized recognition certificate, with their names featured on a dedicated page of the Drua website. Additionally, a private WhatsApp group for the inaugural members will provide access to exclusive content and direct interaction with the Drua coaching staff.

The membership package also includes opportunities to meet Drua players and the extended community, as well as access to special deals and discounts from the club’s sponsors. Members will receive a promo code for purchasing home game tickets in Fiji for friends and family, subject to availability.

To honor this inaugural group of members, a permanent Drua Matavuvale Wall of Fame will be established at the Drua Base in Nadi, commemorating the first supporters from New Zealand who joined this initiative. Furthermore, one lucky member will be chosen for an Ultimate Drua Member Experience, which includes return flights for two to Fiji with Fiji Airways, accommodations at Tanoa Hotels, and a behind-the-scenes match day experience during the Drua’s game against the Highlanders on May 2.

In addition to this new membership, the Drua will engage in a second pre-season match against the Skipper Select side on the 6th of next month at Churchill Park in Lautoka, heralding an exciting year ahead for both fans and the team. The Drua’s commitment to building strong connections with its supporters not only showcases its dedication but also emphasizes the vibrant community surrounding the team.
