The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has announced a promising 12-member Development Squad for the upcoming 2026 season, reflecting its dedication to fostering new talent while also holding onto seasoned players. This year’s squad includes four returning members and introduces eight newcomers who have demonstrated remarkable skills at the club level and in various age-grade competitions.

The Development Player program plays a critical role in the Drua’s approach, aimed at swiftly transitioning emerging players into the professional rugby scene and preparing them for opportunities within the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific. Development coach Nemani Nadolo-Kuridrani expressed his excitement regarding the newly formed squad, noting the impressive combination of current form and potential.

“Many of these players have been standout performers for their clubs, and several have represented Fiji Under-20. They’ve earned their place here, and combined with those who’ve been with us over the past few years, we have a really exciting group,” said Nadolo-Kuridrani.

Among the returning players are Breyton Legge from Naitasiri, Maleli Nauvasi of Nadi Under-20, and local sevens talents Kalioni Ratunabuabua and Joweli Walevu, who impressed in competitions throughout 2025. The new additions to the squad include Bogi Kikau, Harold Rounds, JD Sivivatu Kanth, Jeneriro Wakeham, Joshua Uluibau, Moses Armstrong Ravula, Pita Manamanaivalu, and Sairusi Ravudi. With these promising new talents, the team aims to create a strong impact as they prepare for the challenges of the 2026 season.

The Drua will commence their new season with a home match against Moana Pasifika on the 14th of next month at 3:35 PM. The team is filled with optimism as they work to enhance their foundational strength and cultivate the next wave of rugby talent in Fiji. This initiative not only showcases the Drua’s commitment to player development but also aims to elevate Fiji’s presence in the international rugby arena.
